AF SKI LODGE RECIPES
Skiing makes me hungry, let's eat !
Planning a ski get away? Â
You found the perfect cabin to rent, returning to your favorite slope side condo or maybe driving up in a sprinter van. After a great day on the mountain, bellies can be rumbling. I love a delicious meal. Prepping in advance helps my outdoor day adventure slide easy into a dreamy evening. Many winter dishes include wine in the recipe or recommend to be paired with wine but both are optional. I have included some of my favorite AF Ski Lodge Recipes . Bon Apetit !
TRADITIONAL RACLETTE
My absolute favorite Apres Ski meal is Raclette.

Racler in French means to scrape. In Swiss & French Alpine restaurants a quarter or half wheel of cheese is heated over the fire. The melty bubbling layer is then scraped onto a plate with tiny boiled potatoes. Charcuterie and pickled items are typical accompaignments.

Here at home we have an electric Raclette grill which sits in the middle of the table and hungry diners gather round each grilling their own slices of cheese and other goodies.

The key to this dish is quality ingredients. I always investigate to see if our destination has shops selling gourmet cheeses and charcuterie as I like to buy local or I gather the necessities in advance.
